Review: The Paper Swan

The Paper Swan
The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really had no idea what to expect when I started this book.

The story starts off with a kidnapping. BUT. This is not one of those stories with a typical ‘falling for my kidnapper’ storyline. It’s a story that is full of misunderstandings, revenge, love, and a past that links it all.

I don’t want to say much more on the plot because I feel like anything mentioned would really spoil it all. What I can point out is the writing is quite amazing, the storyline flowed nicely from past to present and back again, and it is filled with twists, turns, and a really beautiful love story entwined in it all.

The characters were easy to like (despite their many mistakes and flaws) and even though there are some dire moments, I found myself reallyyy laughing at the sarcastic humor of the heroine. I am not sure if the author intended these moments to be so funny, but her inner thoughts while in these situations had me laughing out loud.

Though at times I found some things a tad predictable and some moments a little unrealistic (and some moments dragged while others were a little too fast paced in my opinion), I still enjoyed it! I was intrigued with how everything would play out, and there are some definite sweet moments that will tug at your heart strings!
